AfterEffects - Premiere Pro - Procreate 2025

Project: College Work

Audience: Museum visitors, animation enthusiasts & audiences familiar with Hayao Miyazaki (or Studio Ghibli).

Purpose: Promote a fictional exhibit.

Style: Organic movement/Dreamy

This project is a 30-second animated MoMA promo celebrating the work of Hayao Miyazaki.

Research/Inspo

Hayao Miyazaki is a well-known Japanese animator, filmmaker, and manga artist. Miyazaki is the brain behind the Japanese animation studio “Studio Ghibli”. Bringing movies like “Spirited Away”, “My Neighbor Totoro”, “Howl’s Moving Castle”, and much more to life through the world of Japanese animation.

Hayao Miyazaki is a dedicated artist, planning never to retire and to continuously create/animate for as long as he lives.

Elements I have to keep in mind:

  • Pastel colors

  • Hand-drawn

  • Dreamy

  • Whimsical

  • Light

Hannibal

Opening Title Sequence

AfterEffects - Premiere Pro 2025

Project: College Work

Audience: Fans of Hannibal, psychological horror, crime thrillers & mature audiences interested in dark, suspenseful television.

Purpose: Create a 30-second opening title sequence that introduces the TV series.

Style: Minimalistic/Unsettling

This project is a 30-second animated sequence inspired by NBC’s television series Hannibal.

Research/Inspo

First aired on NBC, April 4th, 2013.

I was inspired to create an opening title sequence for the popular television show.

Elements I have to keep in mind:

  • Psychological horror/thriller

  • Crime Thriller

  • Minimalistic

  • Serial Killers

  • Mysterious/Tense

MoodBoard/Refrences

Storyboard Planning

Final Animation

I wanted to take on and try a more minimalistic approach. The Hannibal title sequence is minimalistic in nature, with a bright white background in contrast with dark and light reds.

The imagery is supposed to remind the viewer about red wine and blood based on the character of Hannibal Lecter. Hannibal Lecter is a genius former forensic psychiatrist…who's also a cannibalistic serial killer who works with detectives.

Investigation Discovery

TV Bumper

AfterEffects - Premiere Pro 2025

Project: College Work

Audience: Viewers interested in true crime, criminal investigations, forensic science, & documentary-style crime programming.

Purpose: Create a 10-second TV Bumper for a channel of my own choice.

Style: Dark/Cinematic

This project is a 10-second television bumper/AD created for Investigation Discovery.

Research/Inspo

The reason why I chose Investigation Discovery (from the Discovery Channel) was mainly because I watch true crime before I go to bed. Both of my parents used to be police officers. So, I’m no stranger to these sorts of topics.

Elements I have to keep in mind:

  • Mystery

  • True Crime

  • Unsettling

  • Police/Detectives

  • Non-Fiction

MoodBoard/Refrences

Storyboard Planning

Final Animation

I relied heavily on red and blue flashing light effects and sirens in the background. Specifically, police sirens. Maybe videos of slow panning shots of police caution tape with a blurred background of a crime scene.
